Call for papers
"Coastal and Marine Management in Latin America "
The Journal of Integrated Coastal Management / Revista de Gestão Costeira Integrada (JICM / RGCI) ( http://www.aprh.pt/rgci/index.html ) is preparing the publication of a group of articles dedicated to the theme “Coastal and Marine Management in Latin America”. The objective is to compile articles addressing different aspects related to this theme, namely the following:
- Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) policies, institutional and legal frameworks;
- ICZM instruments and strategies in Latin America;
- Coastal zone policies and the impacts of climate change
- The role of local communities in ICZM and Community Based Management;
- ICZM and Indigenous and traditional communities;
- ICZM and public awareness;
- Mobilizing science and promoting interdisciplinary approaches in marine and coastal governance;
- Marine Spatial Planning;
- Ecosystem Based Management in Coastal Areas
- Effectiveness of ICZM: case studies;
- Biodiversity conservation within ICZM
- Environmental risk of highly anthropized coastal areas and coastal stability and sedimentary budgets in the land-ocean interface
- Capacity building for ICZM in Latin America
- Integrating international instruments and commitments in marine and coastal management;
- Networks and cooperation for ICZM.
Manuscripts, preferably written in English (although Portuguese and Spanish written manuscripts will also be considered), must be submitted until thedeadline of 31st December 2013 NEW DATE 28 FEBRUARY to aprh@aprh.pt and rgci.editor@gmail.com . New submissions will be conditionally accepted until the date of publication of this Thematic Issue is defined.
Manuscripts must be submitted according to authors guidelines available in the journal’s website ( http://www.aprh.pt/rgci/manuscripts-Subm.html or http://www.aprh.pt/rgci/submartigos.html ).
The Invited Editorial Board will be able to support non-Portuguese speaking authors on the abstract and legends Portuguese version.
