Call for papers
"Marine and Coastal Governance in Africa”
The Journal of Integrated Coastal Management / Revista de Gestão Costeira Integrada (JICM / RGCI) (http://www.aprh.pt/rgci/index.html) is preparing the publication of a group of articles dedicated to the theme “ Marine and Coastal Governance in Africa ”. The objective is to compile articles addressing different aspects related to this theme, namely the following:
- Marine Governance: policies, institutional and legal frameworks;
- The new blue economy: the challenge of marine governance and spatial planning models;
- Integrating international instruments and commitments in marine and coastal governance;
- Marine Spatial Planning: experiences, resources exploitation and sustainability;
- Transboundary cooperation in coastal area: biodiversity conservation and fisheries management;
- Integrated Coastal Zone Management policies and instruments;
- Effectiveness of ICZM: case studies;
- Promoting sustainable development in the coastal area;
- The role of local communities in ICZM;
- ICZM and public awareness;
- Mobilizing science and promoting interdisciplinary approaches in marine and coastal governance;
- Preparing coastal zone policies to the effects and impacts of climate change
- Biodiversity conservation within marine governance
- Environmental risk of highly anthropized coastal areas and coastal stability and sedimentary budgets in the land-ocean interface
Manuscripts, preferably written in English (although Portuguese written manuscripts will also be considered), must be submitted until the deadline of 31st December 2013 to [email protected] and [email protected] .
Manuscripts must be submitted according to authors guidelines available in the journal’s website ( http://www.aprh.pt/rgci/manuscripts-Subm.html or http://www.aprh.pt/rgci/submartigos.html ).
