Summer School on “Measuring techniques for turbulent open-channel flows”

Organized within the scope of the project SEDITRANS, funded by the European Commission, 7th Framework Programme for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration.

This summer school targets MSc students and PhD students initiating their formation. The school will provide a hands-on experience on instrumentation suitable to measure fluid and sediment velocities in open-channel flows, namely Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), Acoustic Doppler Velocimetry (ADV) and high speed video for Particle Tracking Velocimetry (PTV). Laboratory practice at the Hydraulics and Environment Laboratory of IST is envisaged. Lectures are experienced researcher in experimental methods in fluid and sediment mechanics.
